“Gobek Api”

Gobek api ialah sejenis alat untuk membuat api. Bentuk gobek api seakan-akan bentuk gobek sireh tetapi fungsinya yang berbeza. Gobek api diperbuat daripada tanduk kerbau atau kayu keras. Gobek api merupakan alat perantara masyarakat tradisional untuk menghidupkan api. Kini, masyarakat hanya menggunakan mancis dan juga pemetik api untuk menghasilkan api.

Fungsinya adalah sama dengan mancis yang digunakan secara tradisional untuk menghidupkan api. Bara api yang menyala dari gobek api akan terus bernyala dan perlu diletakkan pada bahan mudah terbakar untuk menghasilkan api yang lebih marak.

Bahan apinya adalah pucuk kedudur yang dikeringkan. Cara menggunakan gobek api ialah menggunakan pucuk yang diletakkan di hadapan mata gobek. Kemudian, mata gobek dihentak masuk kedalam sarung gobek dan seterusnya akan menghasilkan bara.

Selain itu, bahan untuk menggunakan gobek api dengan menggunakan batang pokok muding. Batang pokok muding adalah lembut dan perlu dikikis. Apabila batang dikikis,maka terhasillah habuk yang lembap. Sebelum menggunakannya, habuk tersebut perlu dijemur terlebih dahulu supaya habuk tersebut kering. Seterusnya, gobek api diletakkan ke dalam habuk muding. Ambik batu keras dan lagakan dengan besi seperti cara menggunakan mancis sehingga serpihan api terpercik ke atas habuk muding. Sekiranya habuk muding tersebut kering, maka api terus menyala.

Menurut sejarah, gobek api dicipta sebelum penciptaan mancis oleh masyarakat Eropah. Gobek api dikatakan telah digunakan sejak sebelum masehi lagi bangsa melayu mempunyai pemikiran yang kreatif dan inovatif dalam penciptaan alat pemetik api. Masyarakat melayu yang tinggal di tanah melayu dan juga dinegara yang lain menghidupkan api dengan menggunakan sejenis alat yang dinamakan "gobek api".

"Fire Gobek"

               Fire gobek is a tool to make a fire. Gobek form of fire like shape gobek sireh but different functions. Fire gobek made from buffalo horn or hardwood. Fire gobek is the fire of traditional society intermediary device to turn on the fire. Now, people only use lighter and lighter to produce a flame.

               Its function is similar to that of matches which are traditionally used to turn on the fire. The burning coals of fire will continue to burn fire gobek and should be placed on combustible materials to produce fuels that are more prevalent.

               Kedudur  point fuel is drained.  How to use fire gobek is to use a nail placed in front of the eyes gobek. Then, eyes gobek stamped into the sheath gobek and so will produce coal.

In addition, the materials for use fire gobek using tree trunks muding. Muding tree trunk is soft and must be rejected. When the rod is scraped, created a moist dust. Before use, the dust should be dried in advance so that the dust is dry. Next, fire gobek placed into dust muding. Pushes hard rock and antagonisms between the iron such as how to use fire lighters up debris splashed on muding dust. If dust is muding dry, the fire continued to burn.

               According to history, fire gobek created before the creation of fire lighters by the European community. Fire gobek is said to have used fire since malay nation has a creative and innovative thinking in the creation of tools lighters. Malay community who live in the land of the Malays and other countries also turn on the fire by using a device called the "fire gobek".
